Day 1 – Arrival in Mont-Tremblant

As we enjoyed ourselves in Mont-Tremblant in past years, we decided to return again this year.  The plan was to get in a few good days of skiing, and otherwise just relax and enjoy ourselves.

Unlike previous years, we are no longer forced to fly with Porter airlines and fly out of the Toronto City Centre airport on the island.  Air Canada has started up seasonal service from Toronto Pearson (YYZ) direct to Mont-Tremblant (YTM), so we jumped at the chance and booked our flights.

Arriving at the airport, we dropped the car at the Terminal 1 valet parking and went to check-in.  The check-in process was interesting.  We were asked where we were headed, and answered “Mont-Tremblant”.  The agent then replied, “but where are you FLYING to?”.  Again, we answered “Mont-Tremblant”.  After the agent said they don’t fly there, I had to feed her the flight number.  It’s a new service, so I guess that’s to be expected.

We got through security and waited in the Maple Leaf Lounge for our flight.  When I went to check our flight status on the departures board, I saw another sign that this is a new service for AC.  While our flight number was listed, it took me a while to find it, as the destination name was blank.

Eventually, it was time to board our flight, and we arrived at our destination without any problems.

We arrived at the Fairmont Tremblant and checked in to our room in time to enjoy the evenings appetizers in the Gold lounge.

After relaxing in the lounge, we returned to the room to get unpacked and get to bed. The plan for the next day was to wake early and get outside for some skiing.
