The weather was overcast, so it was pretty good timing.  After breakfast, we checked in to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fairmont.com\/banff-springs\/willow-stream\/\" target=\"_blank\">Willow Stream Spa<\/a> at the hotel, enjoyed the steam rooms and pools, had nice relaxing treatments, and had a very restful morning.<\/p>\n<p>In the afternoon, we headed into town for a light lunch and a bit of shopping.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hodson.ca\/Travel\/wp-content\/pictures\/Alberta2017\/20170816_175615-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"438\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-3262\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We had dinner planned at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.saltlik.com\/banff\/\" target=\"_blank\">Saltlik Banff<\/a>, which we loved when we ate here a few years ago.  Their award winning burger was as good as I had remembered it was!<\/p>\n<p>After dinner, we walked along Banff Avenue in search of ice cream for dessert.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hodson.ca\/Travel\/wp-content\/pictures\/Alberta2017\/20170816_212940-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-3263\" \/><\/p>\n<p>All in all, it was a nice relaxing day in the mountains!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We had planned for today to be a spa day.
