Today, however, would have a bit of sunshine! Below is the view we had while we waited to board the shuttle bus to the ski hill.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-2848\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hodson.ca\/Travel\/wp-content\/pictures\/LakeLouise2017\/MorningByShuttle-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We made it to the hill, and got in line as we waited for the lifts to open. Once up the first lift, we were greeted by these views at the top of the Glacier Express chair.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-2849\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hodson.ca\/Travel\/wp-content\/pictures\/LakeLouise2017\/20170214_090644-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-2850\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hodson.ca\/Travel\/wp-content\/pictures\/LakeLouise2017\/20170214_090646-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We immediately proceeded to the Top of The World chair, to head further up the mountain. Below is the same view across the valley, but from a bit further up.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-2851\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hodson.ca\/Travel\/wp-content\/pictures\/LakeLouise2017\/20170214_093757-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Just off the chair, you can see the summit of Mount Whitehorn, just a little bit further. To get there, we would have to ski down a bit, to reach the Summit Platter lift, to drag us up to the very top.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-2852\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hodson.ca\/Travel\/wp-content\/pictures\/LakeLouise2017\/20170214_093805-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We skied around a short traverse and then down toward the final lift.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-2853\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hodson.ca\/Travel\/wp-content\/pictures\/LakeLouise2017\/20170214_093800-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And here we are at the top!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-2854\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hodson.ca\/Travel\/wp-content\/pictures\/LakeLouise2017\/20170214_100241-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" \/><\/p>\n<p>From here, we can ski down into the back bowls, or back down toward the main lodge on the front side.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-2855\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hodson.ca\/Travel\/wp-content\/pictures\/LakeLouise2017\/20170214_100243-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-2856\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hodson.ca\/Travel\/wp-content\/pictures\/LakeLouise2017\/20170214_100246-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Down below is the top of the Top of the World Chair.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-2858\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hodson.ca\/Travel\/wp-content\/pictures\/LakeLouise2017\/20170214_100823-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" \/><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5GcBhqCGchI?rel=0?ecver=2\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>We continued our run to the bottom. Here we are approaching the base of the mountain.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-2861\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hodson.ca\/Travel\/wp-content\/pictures\/LakeLouise2017\/20170214_110452-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-2862\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hodson.ca\/Travel\/wp-content\/pictures\/LakeLouise2017\/20170214_110503-576x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"576\" height=\"1024\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After a bit of skiing on the front side, we headed back up and down the bowls on the other side, and around toward the Larch area.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-2863\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hodson.ca\/Travel\/wp-content\/pictures\/LakeLouise2017\/20170214_124425-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After spending some time skiing on the back, we headed back up the Ptarmigan chair and down the front side.<\/p>\n<p>Because this was Valentine&#8217;s Day, I had reservations to take Nadine to her favourite restaurant at the Chateau, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fairmont.com\/lake-louise\/dining\/walliserstube\/\" target=\"_blank\">Walliser Stube<\/a>! Famous for its fondue and other Swiss dishes, the Walliser Stube has an excellent menu. It is located next to the Fairview, with windows overlooking the lake, with beautiful dark wood panelling that looks like an old library.
