{"id":2627,"date":"2016-02-12T12:00:37","date_gmt":"2016-02-12T16:00:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hodson.ca\/Travel\/?p=2627"},"modified":"2016-05-08T11:45:46","modified_gmt":"2016-05-08T15:45:46","slug":"day-8-vancouver-to-banff","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.hodson.ca\/Travel\/?p=2627","title":{"rendered":"Day 8 \u2013 Skiing at Lake Louise"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After an early breakfast in the lounge, we got suited up for a day of skiing.\u00a0 Our plan for our ski days in the Rockies, was to ski at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.skilouise.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Lake Louise Ski Resort<\/a>.\u00a0 This meant a 45-minute run up the highway from Banff to Lake Louise to start our day.\u00a0 Next year, it will be my turn to choose where we stay during our ski trip, and we&#8217;ll stay the entire time at the Chateau Lake Louise!<br \/>\nReady to take the first step? Reach out today and discover how <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gailphillips.net\/where-to-buy-antabuse\/\">antabuse<\/a> can help you on your path to a brighter, sober future.<br \/>\nNo less than 30 seconds away from our hotel, we were met with a short road block.\u00a0 A big buck elk was just standing in the middle of the main road.\u00a0 After a short while, he wandered off through some trees and into a residential area.\u00a0 We didn&#8217;t have our cameras out, but managed to film this short video as he was moving away.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/7fFVJWXAPMs?rel=0\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Continuing on our way, we made it to the Lake Louise Ski Area and headed out to the lifts.<\/p>\n<p>It was a mostly overcast day, with light snow, so I don&#8217;t have a lot of great pictures to share from the day. However, the ski conditions were excellent!<br \/>\nStaying informed about medical treatments like <a href=\"https:\/\/stricklandscanner.org.uk\/get-stromectol\/\">stromectol<\/a> is crucial! Stay safe, and consult with a healthcare professional before making any decisions. Remember, your health is top priority!<br \/>\nWhen it came to lunch time, we decided to eat at Whitehorn Bistro, a new restaurant which sits mid-mountain on the upper floor of the Whitehorn Lodge. It was nice having a full service dining restaurant, even accepting reservations, on the ski hill. That&#8217;s a pleasant change from the hectic cafeterias found at most ski areas.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-2629\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hodson.ca\/Travel\/wp-content\/pictures\/WhistlerBanff2016\/20160212_140417-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"20160212_140417\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After lunch, we continued our day of skiing.<\/p>\n<p>Once finished skiing for the day, we thought we&#8217;d take a quick drive over to Lake Louise and see her in winter.<\/p>\n<p>Below is the famous ice castle, which is built on the lake every year. There were also several ice carvings around the shoreline, which were created as part of the ice carving contest held a few weeks earlier.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-2633\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hodson.ca\/Travel\/wp-content\/pictures\/WhistlerBanff2016\/20160212_164450-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"20160212_164450\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-2634\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hodson.ca\/Travel\/wp-content\/pictures\/WhistlerBanff2016\/20160212_165027-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"20160212_165027\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-2630\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hodson.ca\/Travel\/wp-content\/pictures\/WhistlerBanff2016\/20160212_165438-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"20160212_165438\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" \/><\/p>\n<p>They even had an ice bar!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-2631\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hodson.ca\/Travel\/wp-content\/pictures\/WhistlerBanff2016\/20160212_171033-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"20160212_171033\" width=\"584\" height=\"329\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-2632\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hodson.ca\/Travel\/wp-content\/pictures\/WhistlerBanff2016\/20160212_171641-1024x570.jpg\" alt=\"20160212_171641\" width=\"584\" height=\"325\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We took several photos, but due to the heavy cloud cover, they didn&#8217;t turn out too great.
