Shortly before arriving in Munich, we awoke from a very comfortable flight.\u00a0 We freshened up a bit and got changed, before getting ready to land.<\/p>\n

The weather looked nice, if a bit hazy, as we were approaching Munich airport.<\/p>\n

Instead of parking at a remote stand, which is common at European airports, our flight arrived at a gate. Unfortunately, it was the furthest gate in the terminal, so it meant a bit of a walk. After about 15 minutes, we made our way to the Lufthansa First Class lounge, where they have their own immigration desk to clear incoming passengers.<\/p>\n

After formalities, the first order of business was to get a nice shower and some breakfast.\u00a0 They have very nice facilities for both showers and baths, which are most welcome after a long flight.\u00a0 And to complete the experience, we were provided with nice souvenir rubber ducks for the bath!<\/p>\n

After a nice hot breakfast, we relaxed before it was time to board our flight to Geneva. They had a nice buffet breakfast and also a nice menu of made-to-order items.<\/p>\n

Our flight to Geneva was on a smaller aircraft, and was leaving from a remote location on the tarmac rather than from a terminal gate. However, instead of having to take a shuttle bus, the FCT has a limousine service downstairs where they drive us directly\u00a0from the lounge to the aircraft stairs!\u00a0 This was our ride.<\/p>\n

Once in the air, we were less than an hour from landing in Switzerland. Here we are flying over Lac L\u00e9man.<\/p>\n

Once on the ground, we claimed our luggage and grabbed the train into town toward our hotel, the Swiss\u00f4tel M\u00e9tropole<\/a>, Geneva.<\/p>\n

We were only going to be in Geneva for one night, and we expect most of our time will be a little difficult as we recover from jet lag, however, we did want to see what we could while we were here.<\/p>\n

We had a nice updated room with a view to the park in front of the lake.<\/p>\n

After getting settled, we set out to explore the waterfront area, and decided to take a boat tour of Geneva.<\/p>\n

The boat tour lasted about an hour. We then explored some of the nearby streets and looked for a bite to eat for dinner. Geneva is a very pretty city.<\/p>\n

\nAfter dinner, we returned to the hotel and tried to get some sleep and get accustomed to the time change as quickly as possible.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
