{"id":2044,"date":"2015-03-02T12:00:22","date_gmt":"2015-03-02T16:00:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hodson.ca\/Travel\/?p=2044"},"modified":"2015-04-19T21:18:33","modified_gmt":"2015-04-20T01:18:33","slug":"day-2b-skiing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.hodson.ca\/Travel\/?p=2044","title":{"rendered":"Day 2B \u2013 Skiing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We spent our first full day in Mont Tremblant skiing.\u00a0 The weather was overcast, but the temperature was comfortable and the snow conditions were good.<\/p>\n<p>Skiing on the south side by the village was busy, so once at the top of the gondola, we skied on the Versant Soleil.\u00a0 Nadine skied a few runs on the Algonquin run, which is the only beginner run on the Versant Soleil.\u00a0 This long run does not seem to have as much snow as other areas of the resort, and\u00a0was not open when we were here in January, so this is Nadine&#8217;s first time skiing the runs on this side of the mountain.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a video of Nadine finishing a run on Algonquin and coming toward the Soleil Express chairlift.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Gj6RuNnYvvo\" width=\"575\" height=\"700\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>When it was time for lunch, I convinced Nadine to ski an intermediate run, and we skied Toboggan.\u00a0 This allowed us to access the Trapper&#8217;s Refuge cabin for lunch, which is always less crowded than eating at the top of the mountain or down in the village.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2045\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hodson.ca\/Travel\/wp-content\/pictures\/MontTremblant2015\/Mar2015\/20150302_122132.jpg\" alt=\"20150302_122132\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After lunch, we continued to ski on the Versant Soleil for the remainder of the day.<\/p>\n<p>In the evening, we watched the kids tubing next to the hotel before heading out for dinner.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2046\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hodson.ca\/Travel\/wp-content\/pictures\/MontTremblant2015\/Mar2015\/20150302_191900.jpg\" alt=\"20150302_191900\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For dinner, we had reservations at La Forge, in the steakhouse upstairs.\u00a0 We had heard good things about this restaurant, and it didn&#8217;t disappoint.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2047\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hodson.ca\/Travel\/wp-content\/pictures\/MontTremblant2015\/Mar2015\/20150302_212057.jpg\" alt=\"20150302_212057\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We spent our first full day in Mont Tremblant skiing.\u00a0 The weather was overcast, but the temperature was comfortable and the snow conditions were good.
