{"id":1634,"date":"2014-01-16T17:00:00","date_gmt":"2014-01-16T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hodson.ca\/Travel\/?p=1634"},"modified":"2017-09-22T23:36:11","modified_gmt":"2017-09-23T03:36:11","slug":"day-5-skiing-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.hodson.ca\/Travel\/?p=1634","title":{"rendered":"Day 5 &ndash; Skiing Again"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today was a perfect day for skiing.\u00a0 Skies were sunny and clear, and the temperature was about minus 7.<\/p>\n<p>After breakfast, Nadine and I suited up for a day of skiing.\u00a0 At first, Nadine wasn\u2019t sure if her legs were up to the challenge, but after a few practice runs on the beginner area, she decided to try a run down the mountain.\u00a0 We rode the gondola up to the top and I snapped this photo before we headed down our first run.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"Mont-Tremblant-20140116-00186\" alt=\"Mont-Tremblant-20140116-00186\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hodson.ca\/Travel\/wp-content\/pictures\/MontTremblant2014\/MontTremblant2014011600186.jpg\" width=\"574\" height=\"432\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We mainly spent the day skiing the north side of Mont-Tremblant, where it seems to be less busy and the snow conditions are a bit better.\u00a0 After about 4 or 5 runs, we stopped for lunch in the cafeteria at the top of the mountain.\u00a0 Here\u2019s me standing on the deck next to the cafeteria entrance.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"Mont-Tremblant-20140116-00197 copy\" alt=\"Mont-Tremblant-20140116-00197 copy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hodson.ca\/Travel\/wp-content\/pictures\/MontTremblant2014\/MontTremblant2014011600197copy.jpg\" width=\"574\" height=\"432\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We started lunch late, so it was already after 2PM when we were finished.\u00a0 However, there was still enough time to complete one more run on the north side of the mountain before we would need to return to the south side before the lifts close at 3:30 PM.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s a photo of Nadine skiing.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: inline; border-width: 0px;\" title=\"Mont-Tremblant-20140116-00203 copy\" alt=\"Mont-Tremblant-20140116-00203 copy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hodson.ca\/Travel\/wp-content\/pictures\/MontTremblant2014\/MontTremblant2014011600203copy.jpg\" width=\"574\" height=\"764\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I also managed to capture a couple of videos of Nadine skiing down the mountain.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/aSwrZLXew40?rel=0\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>And here\u2019s another one\u2026<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/--oiNbEBh1o?rel=0\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><br \/>\nOnce we made it to the bottom of the north side, we took the lift back up one last time so we could ski back to the hotel on the south side.<\/p>\n<p>Arriving back at the hotel, we got cleaned up and went to the lounge for drinks and snacks.\u00a0 It was a tiring but very enjoyable day on the slopes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today was a perfect day for skiing.\u00a0 Skies were sunny and clear, and the temperature was about minus 7.
