It\u2019s now 9 PM on Saturday, May 1, and we have finally arrived back home to Newmarket! We\u2019re jet-lagged and completely exhausted after a busy adventure and a long journey. I think I need a vacation to recuperate from our vacation!<\/p>\n
The last four weeks have been fabulous, but I\u2019m looking forward to getting back into a normal routine and not living out of a suitcase.<\/p>\n
And now for some interesting numbers about the trip\u2026<\/p>\n
Our adventure was exciting, lasting 28 days, of which we spent 53 hours in flight and 21 hours hanging around airports. We visited 11 airports in 5 countries. We travelled 38,000 km by air and 2,700 km by rental car. We stayed in 14 different hotel rooms. I have no idea how many miles we walked. Add in several ferry, train, helicopter, jet boat, cable car, bus and taxi rides, and we covered a lot of ground over the last four weeks. We took over 5,000 photos and short video clips, filling more than 30 GB of computer memory!<\/p>\n
The places we visited were wonderful, and if anyone is considering a trip to New Zealand, I thoroughly recommend it. There are still number of places in New Zealand I\u2019d like to see that we just couldn\u2019t fit in to our schedule, so I know we\u2019ll be going back again sometime (just not for a while).<\/p>\n
